PCM volleyball defeats Trojans at West Marshall tourney

Aug. 29—STATE CENTER — PCM's volleyball team rallied from an early hole to down West Marshall at the Trojans' home tournament on Saturday.

The Mustangs defeated West Marshall in three sets but went 1-4 for the day with three two-set losses.

PCM downed the Trojans 14-21, 21-17, 15-13 for its lone win of the day.

The Mustangs took Class 1A No. 10 BCLUW the distance but lost 7-21, 23-21, 15-8. The straight-set losses came against 3A No. 15 Roland-Story, Davis County and Columbus Catholic.

Addison Steenhoek

In the win over West Marshall (2-5), Eliana Buswell finished with 15 assists and seven digs, Tori Lindsay added 10 digs and four kills and Addison Steenhoek chipped in 15 digs and two aces and she was 10-of-10 in serves.

Reese Palm registered five kills and six digs, Rebecca De Vries put down three kills and had four digs and Lark Drake finished with four digs. Elle Davis collected three kills and Rylie Muck added two kills.

The Mustangs (5-6) were 44-of-50 with four aces.

In the loss to BCLUW (5-3), Buswell had 11 assists and nine digs, Lindsay collected nine digs and four kills and Palm tallied four kills and three digs.

Steenhoek registered nine digs, De Vries finished with four kills and two blocks, Muck had two blocks and two digs, Drake collected four digs and Ella Schendel turned in two digs.

PCM was 37-of-38 in serves with four aces.

Eliana Buswell

In the 21-17, 21-19 loss to Davis County (2-4), Lindsay tallied seven digs, two assists and three kills, Steenhoek posted 16 digs and Buswell registered 11 assists and three digs.

De Vries added four kills and two digs, Palm put down five kills, Drake had four digs and Schendel collected three digs.

Morgan Karr finished with three kills, Muck had two kills and two assists and the Mustangs were 32-of-38 in serves with one ace.

In the 21-13, 21-15 loss to Columbus Catholic (2-3), Buswell finished with five assists and four digs, Lindsay secured five digs and Steenhoek registered four digs.

De Vries and Davis each put down two kills and the Mustangs were 24-of-29 in serves with two aces.

Roland-Story (5-2) downed PCM 21-10, 21-12. Buswell dished out five assists, Palm put down three kills and De Vries had two kills and two blocks.

Lindsay registered three digs, Schendel and Steenhoek tallied two digs and Lillian Humpal collected two blocks. The Mustangs were 20-of-23 in serves with four aces.
